The First Insights on Trans-Galactooligosaccharide Effects on Fatty Acids Profile and Microstructure of Muscle in Common Carp

Abstract The aim of the study was to determine effects prebiotic GOS on muscle histomorphometry and total lipid, cholesterol content fatty acids profile in meat common carp. 60-day-long experiment performed one-year-old fish. Three diets were used experiment: control diet 1 (C) with no microbiota affecting feed additives, 2 (B1) 1% GOS, 3 (B2) 2% GOS. At end trial, 16 individuals from each treatment group for analyses. Fish B1 had significantly higher lipid compared B2, but neither nor B2 groups different group. percentages SFA, MUFA, PUFA, indexes n-3/n-6, PUFA /SFA, AI TI, not affected, contrast C14:0, C16:1 n-7, C18:0, C18:2 n-6, C20:4 n-6 FA. increased percentage normal fibres, while lower amount fibre atrophy splitting observed. results confirm that supplemented may be recommended as additive carp nutrition due positive some profiles microstructure.
